ClappDiCO PCD Reamers |
are manufactured by brazing a diamond segment backed with carbide into a
carbide or steel body and then finish ground, usually between centers on a machine
dedicated to this process. These blanks provide abrasion resistance up to 500
times that of carbide. In addition to superior resistance, PCD's high thermal
conductivity allows heat to be conducted away from the cutting edge, preventing
premature tool wear. Tool life may be further increased by re-sharpening cutting
edges several times. These blanks can be provided in 3 grades - fine, medium
and coarse with the medium grade usually used in drills and reamers.
PCBN, |
the second hardest material, can also be used in other rotary tool applications.
At elevated speeds, it remains inert and retains high hardness and fracture
resistance. PCBN rotary tools are manufactured in the same method as PCD tools.
