Retipping and Regrinding

Our expert craftsman are particularly skilled in these refurbishing processess and have been performing such services on PCD and PCBN tooling for over 30 years.

Care and Handling of
Super Abrasive Tooling
To prevent damage to the cutting edges, extreme care must be used when handling tools with PCD and PCBN because of the very sharp cutting edges and fragile inserts. Unless soft contact indicators are used, these inserts should be set with optical tool setters. Micrometers and standard indicators should never be allowed to touch the fragile cutting edges of these inserts.

The vinyl rubber milling cutter boots that are shipped with the cutters should always be used to protect personnel and cutters from sharp edges.

Polycrystalline diamond cutting tools are NOT recommended for use on ferrous metals, stainless steels, nickel alloys, or similar tough materials since these metals induce chemical reactions which create high wear on the PCD cutting edge.
